City Clerk

The City Clerk shall keep and preserve the City seal and all official records not required by law or ordinance to be filed elsewhere; to attend all meetings of the Board and to maintain a journal showing the proceedings of all such meetings, the Aldermen present and absent, each motion considered, the title of each resolution and ordinance considered and the vote on each questions; and to prepare and certify copies of official records.

The City Clerk shall act as Tax Collector and issue receipts for taxes collected and post payment on date taxes are collected.

The City Clerk shall be Treasurer and shall receive, keep and disburse all funds of the City.

The mission of the City Clerk's Office is to provide a centralized financial management function that is fair and accurate to all the citizens of the City of Brownsville. Striving to collect and document the various taxes, fees and city court fines owed to the City.
