Duties are to oversee Haywood County Property as to its
presentation and its relation to the health, safety and
welfare of the public. As code enforcer and building
inspector, Mr. Porch is a Tennessee State Certified Building
Inspector and also Certified with the ICC (International
Codes Council). He is responsible for working with all the
builders and homeowners concerning new homes, remodeling,
repair of existing homes, as well as mobile homes placement.
He keeps the Haywood County Planning Committee informed on
enforcement and inspection action in the County as well as
obtains its approval on certain required projects.
The County adopted the 2006 International Building Codes in
2009, and these set of codes are good for seven years. The
county will update its codes to the 2012 ICC set of Codes in
2013. Mr. Porch is a member of the West Tennessee Building
Officials Association (WTBOA) and the Tennessee BOA.
Lonnie Porch is a Haywood County native. He served in the U.
S. Army and was employed in finance management for more than
30 years before he was appointed by Haywood County Mayor
Franklin Smith to Haywood County Codes Enforcement and
Building Inspector in July 2008. He holds his State
Certification and continues his education in this field. He
is a member of the International Codes Council.
